Dr. Rahman Sahragard was born in 1959 in Shiraz, Iran. He earned his Bachelor's degree in English literature from Shiraz University in 1988, his Master's degree in English language teaching from Tarbiat Modares University in 1991, and his PhD in applied linguistics from the University of Leicester, UK, in 2000. He has been a professor of English language and literature at Shiraz University for the past 27 years.
Dr. Sahragard has supervised and advised 208 specialized PhD dissertations and master's theses, and has published more than 93 scientific research articles in reputable domestic and international journals and over 75 articles in national and international conferences.
He is currently a member of the editorial board of three scientific research journals licensed by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology. Dr. Sahragard has also managed the three-year period of the second editor-in-chief of the Journal of Language Skills Teaching at Shiraz University.
Dr. Sahragard has served as the head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Linguistics at Shiraz University for 6 consecutive years, the research deputy of the Faculty of Humanities at Shiraz University for 2 years, the president of the Cultural University of Fars Province for 2 years, and the dean of the Faculty of Humanities at Shiraz University since December 2019.
